Recently Motorola has verified that Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus are now getting the update for Android Nougat in India. The company said that they are thrilled to announce a new update for software for Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus.
Similar to the Android Marshmallow which is the current Software in Moto phones, the Nought also has been employed in Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus with its stock user interface. This means that the users have to install the Google Now launcher separately. Although, as the number of smartphones went high on the Motorola’s series, the company has become more selective. Having said that, Motorola still has the best record to bring the latest version of Android to its current handsets.
In Motorola’s release note, it highlighted that Nougat update would include features like bundle notification, multi-window multitasking, improved emojis, etc. these are the same feature that Google announced with the Nougat update.
Not long ago, Motorola announced that it 15 of its phone will get the Nougat update in the upcoming months. The first ones are G4, and G4 Plus and the next on the line is expected to be the Z and the Z Play. Moto X phones that were launched last year also likely to get an update. However, the Moto G3 from last year will not be getting the update. Surprisingly, the newly launches Moto E3 is also not getting the Nougat update.
Earlier the company used to update all of its 2-3 old smartphones to the latest software version. However with the increasing smartphone in Motorola’s lineup has made the company selective. Even then Motorola has a great record of bringing the latest update of Android to its existing smartphones.
