OnePlus launched OnePlus 3T on November 15

As anticipated finally OnePlus launched OnePlus 3T which is an upgraded variant of OnePlus3. The main distinctions between the smartphone are faster SoC, improved camera, larger battery, and increased storage. The 64GB variant is priced at GBP 399 (around Rs. 33,700), EUR 439 (around Rs. 31,200), and USD 439(around Rs.29,800), on the other hand the 128GB variant is priced at GBP (around Rs. 37,100), EUR 479 (around Rs. 34,800), and USD 479 (around Rs. 32,500).

The smartphone will be made available in the US from 22 November and from 26th November in Europe. There hasn’t been any news on when OnePlus 3T will be available in India. The device will come in Soft Gold and Gunmetal colour variants. The company also revealed that the latest OxygenOS based on Android 7.0 Nougat would be released for the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T together by the end of the year, and both the smartphones will receive updates together.

Let’s talk about what is new in the OnePlus 3T, the new device features faster Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC ( two cores clocked at 1.6GHz and two cores clocked at 2.35GHz)whereas the previous variant features Snapdragon 820 SoC. It offers 64GB and 128GB variants, while the OnePlus only has 64GB model.

In terms of the camera, the company has doubled the resolution of the front snapper from 8-megapixel to 16-megapixel at the same time it also dropped the Sony IMX179 and adopted the 1.4-micron pixels to the Samsung 3P8SP with 1-micron pixels. It also comes with PDAF autofocus.

Lastly, the newly launched OnePlus 3T comes with a larger 3400mAh battery, while the OnePlus 3 has a 3000mAh battery. Both the handsets supports Dash Charge (5V 4A) fast charging technology.

Everything else in the new OnePlus 3T matches with the OnePlus 3T. The smartphone has the same anodised aluminium metal unibody design, same Alert Slider aside from capacitive hardware key, the same fingerprint sensor housed on the home button. The handset also has the same USB 2.0 Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It sports a 5.5-inch HD Optic AMOLED (1080×1920 pixels) display along with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. The SoC is paired with 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM.

For connectivity, the OnePlus 3T has 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, and GPS/A-GPS. The measurement of both devices are also similar at 152.7×74.7×7.35mm and weighs at 158 g.
