Gionee has launched S9 smartphone in China
Gionee has launched S9 smartphone in China. The smartphone is priced at CNY 2,499 (Rs. 25,000 approximately), and it will be made available in China from November 25. Gionee S9 will come in Gold, Rose Gold, and Black colour variants. So far it doesn’t seem like the company has any plans for the global roll out of the S9 smartphone.
Coming to the specification of Gionee S9, the main highlight of the smartphone is its dual rear cameras- 13-megapixel together with a 5-megapixel secondary shooter that uses camera sensors of Sony and Samsung respectively. The device comes with dual-tone LED flash. The S9 also has a 13-megaixel front snapper featuring Gionee’s Selfie Flash. The smartphone offers self-timer and seven beauty effects that enhance the selfie.
The dual-SIM Gionee S9 houses a fingerprint scanner at the back. The company says that the smartphone offers several security features such as application password for apps and documents with fingerprint or password lock. The S9 also has private space that will allow the users to save their private contacts, call history, texts, and documents which also has fingerprint protection.
The Gionee S9 comes with a 5.5-inch HD (1080×1920 pixels) display along with 2.5D curved glass. The device is powered by 2GHz octa-core MediaTek (MT6755) Helio P10 processor paired with 4GB of RAM. It also offers internal storage capacity of 64GB that can be further expanded up to 128GB via hybrid dua-SIM configuration. The Gionee S9 runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow along with Amigo OS 3.5. The dimensions of the smartphone are measured at 154.2×76.4×7.4mm, and it weighs around 168 grams. For connectivity, the Gionee S9 offers 4G with VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, GPRS/EDGE, GPS, Micro-USB, Bluetooth 4.0. The smartphone packs a 3000mAh battery. Let’s see if the company eventually decide to have a global roll out of the product.
