HP spectre x360 laptop is famous due to its premium design, fast performance, vibrant screen and comfortable keyboard. It is relatively heavy compared to other similar laptops but it is mostly good with nearly best in long battery life. It is the latest in HP’s line of Yoga systems, it fills the gap between company’s previous 11-inch and 15-inch systems designed to flip from notebook to slate. It also has a bright display, extra-wide touchpad and excellent battery life.
It is HP’s newest flagship notebook. It is also probably the closest you will get to seeing Microsoft build its own laptop. Though this machine has Hewlett-Packard’s name on it, HP designed it with engineers from the Windows team, optimizing everything from fan noise to screen’s color gamut. The result is a well-built laptop with fast performance, long battery life and a nearly bloat ware-free version of Windows. It looks like it combined the best ideas from other top-end Ultra books. It has made from a machined aluminum chassis. Its polished metal sides, is a nice contrast to matte finish on lid and bottom. Front edges are rounded, while rear edges have a sharper right angle. Finally, rear portion and bottom section are each rounded and connected by two shiny hinges. Its lid is clean. It is unicorn except for a small groove near top and an offset “Hewlett-Packard” in middle.
HP Spectre x360 review – Killer 2-in-1 device!
Inside, this is all of HP. Its keyboard deck is silver-on-silver treatment is reminiscent of other HP systems. An extra wide Click pad is also a holdover from earlier Spectre notebooks of HP. In a compulsory concession to its folding design, HP spectre x360’s power button is on left edge and Windows button is on right edge instead of below display. Also on right is a volume rocker that is useful for when we are using it in tablet mode. It is 3.26 pounds heavier than most other 13-inch ultra books. Stand mode of this version will be useful when watching movies in compact spaces and when notebook is on an airline tray table. However its sharp edges and weight make it unwieldy and uncomfortable to hold in Tablet mode.
It introduces standard with a 1080p optically bonded touch screen, which is very sharp and colorful, and most likely helps save battery life. But it is also offered with a 2,560 x 1,440 panel for an extra hundred bucks. It has a sharper panel, especially considering how great battery life is when you settle for lower resolution with a 72 percent color gamut tones here are nice and rich, though not overly saturated. Also, though viewing angles on this IPS screen isn’t perfect, they are wide enough that we would still watch movies and get work done with screen dipped forward, within a certain range of flexibility.
Recently, many makers have outfitted their high-end Ultra note books with Ultra HD displays. Its screen can produce 103.2 % of RGB spectrum (anything around 100 % is very good). Its panel is Delta-e score of 1.25 (number closer to 0 is better) means that its colors are highly accurate. Like its display, its audio is also good. Vocals are also in front and such as guitar strums its speakers are not very loud. Registering 82 decibels as calculated from 23 inches away. This note book is a touch quieter than average (85 dB) and nowhere near as loud as the XPS 13 (94 dB).

HP spectre x360 is currently offered in three configurations. Starting with the entry level model, we get Core i5-5200U processor along with 4GB of RAM and a 1080p touch screen. Of the three, it is only one that is customizable, with an option to double its RAM. HP rates it for up to 12.5 hours of runtime, depending on its configuration as part of 56Wh battery. This system settings looking for places where they could make this machine just a little more power efficient. Together HP has decided to shut down certain parts of system when not in use. HP has also aimed for low fan noise. Meanwhile, Quad HD panel uses PSR technology that avoids changing pixels unnecessarily to reduce power consumption.
Its battery life really is as long as promised. On unit a 1080p screen to half-day mark 11 hours and 34 minutes of video playback, to be precise. This machine would have lasted even longer. Either way, 11.5 hours is an excellent showing for a laptop this size. It manages to slightly edge out new 13-inch Mac Book Pro version, which is in a similar weight class. HP’s flagship also far surpasses plenty of lighter weighted Ultra books. It might be heavier than all those systems, but it at least justifies its extra left with longer runtime. An aluminum clad note book tends to absorb heat, and HP spectre x360 is no different. After streaming a video at full HD screen for 15 minutes, its touchpad (81 degrees Fahrenheit) and space between G and H (86 degrees) are relatively cool. However, bottom rose to 100 degrees, which is 5 degrees higher than we consider comfortable.
It is good for lightweight games but will tense on more demanding titles and systems with higher resolutions. It manages only 26 frames per second (FPS) on the world of War craft at its resolution and effects on auto detect. That is on a par with category average (29 FPS).
Finally, with long battery life, good performance and an impressive and attractive design, HP Spectre x360 is one of the best convertible note books. In tablet mode it is less expensive and has a more powerful processor.
