Asus ZenFone AR announced to unveil the first smartphone featuring 8GB RAM on Thursday in India. Additionally, the company will be live streaming the event of a launch, which will start at 2 pm IST and you watch every bit of it online. The Taiwanese company, Asus has launched ZenFone AR at the CES 2017.
Other than the huge 8 GB of RAM it also offers, one of the other biggest highlights of this smartphone is that it supports Google’s Tango augment reality platform. The device also comes with latest Snapdragon 821 SoC that has been modified for the performance of Tango. In order to further facilitate Tango, the smartphone comes sensors and camera arrangement that tracks motions, area learning, and depth perception.

Coming to the specification of the device, it runs Android 7.0 Nougat and features 5.7-inch QHD along with 1440×2560 pixels resolutions Super AMOLED display. Asus ZenFone AR is powered by Snapdragon 821 SoC that has been claimed to be modified for the performance of Tango. And as mentioned above the main highlight of the smartphone is its huge 8GB of RAM.
When it comes to the optics, the smartphone sports 23-megapixels Sony IMX318 module along with TriTech+ autofocus, second-gen laser focus, dual-PDAF, and continuous focus. The primary camera comes with 4-axis OIS and 3-axis EIS support to facilitate video recording with the support of 4K video recording. For the front camera, the Asus ZenFone AR has an 8-megapixel camera along with an 85-degree wide angle lens and f/2.0 aperture.
The Asus ZenFone AR has 256GB of internal storage space which can be further expanded up to 128 GB via microSD. It is powered by 3300mAh battery, and for connectivity, the options include Bluetooth v4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 connectivity, USB 2.0 Type-C port.
Asus earlier announces that the ZenFone AR would also feature vapor cooling system in order to avoid overheating. We will find out today if the smartphone indeed does come with this feature.

Presently, Asus ZenFone AR has been launched in its home market- Taiwan. The smartphone is priced at TWD 24,990 (around Rs. 53,100) for the 8GB and 128GB variant. We can expect the price to be same in India as well.
