Not a long ago, when Freedom 251 was revealed, the market has created buzz about the next phone which in under Rs1000. Docoss X1, an Android-based smartphone costing Rs888 has been unveiled. Alike, Freedom 251 the company is taking pre-orders for the phone. But in contrast with the Freedom 251, a firm has promised to deliver the product in just 4 days. The pre-order has been taken on 29 April and claimed to ship the phones on 2nd May.
As the company has claimed to deliver the product at the drop of a hat, it would be really interesting to know how much they have planned in manufacturing or more possibly they have already filled up their stocks with the thousands of units. Docoss has not done the expensive advertising campaign for its product sale. Another problem is that the website is not able to access on 28th April, and 15 listed call-centers are not yet working properly. It seems like that the company is unplanned and is messed up.
Let’s look down the features of the cheapest phone, and see how good it got developed with such a minimum price.
Camera: The handset sports 2-megapixel Rear Camera along with flash light and the Front-facing camera features 0.3-megapixel.
Processor: The phone runs on Androidv4.4.2 and is powered by 1.2GHz dual-core processor.
Body: The device measures 122.20 x 64.40 x 9.30 mm and weighs 102 grams making it light to carry. This cheap phone comes in two color variants, simply black and white.
Storage: The device is equipped with 1GB RAM and 4GB internal storage. And further on, memory can be expanded via microSD card till 32 GB.
Battery: The phone running capacity is backed up by the 1300mAh battery.
Display: A 4.00-inch screen handset comes with a resolution of 400×480 pixels.
Connectivity: The dual-SIM handsets support 3G network only in the first SIM. The other connectivity options include Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi, and headphones. But it does not support NFC, USB OTG and infrared.
Sensors: Sensors on the device include a proximity sensor, Accelerometer, and Ambient light sensor.
If compared with Freedom 251, the X1 lacks behind in rear camera, battery power, and Android version. Freedom 251 features 3MP camera, powered by a 1450mAh battery and runs Android Lollipop version against Docoss X1, which sports 2MP rear camera, powered by a 1300mAh battery and operates KitKat version of Android. If the storage is taken into consideration, the phone which costs Rs.251 comes with 8GB RAM and Rs.888 phone comes with 4GB RAM. Rs. 888 phone’s storage can be expanded via micro-SD slot card and can be extended up to 32GB
Docoss X1 is the first smartphone unleashed by the Docoss Multimedia Private Limited, which is a Jaipur-based company. The first phone in the X series runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat and is available at a price tag of just Rs. 888. If you talk about its USP, the price of the product is only its distinct point.
