Gionee M5 Mini launched in Nigeria
Gionee has introduced a new smartphone Gionee M5 Mini launched in Nigeria. With this, the company has expanded its battery-focused ‘Marathon’ range. The new Gionee Marathon M5 Mini almost has the same features as Marathon M5 except for a slight change in RAM, SoC, and internal storage capacity. The company has not yet made any disclosure about the pricing and availability.
The announcement came from Gionee’s official Facebook page a local Nigerian Publication, Nigeria Bulleting.
As expected, Gionee Marathon M5 Mini comes with a massive 4000mAh Li-Po battery. The smartphone is powered by Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box along with Amigo UI on top. It sports a 5-inch full HD IPS display along with 720*1280 pixels resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and runs on a 64-bit 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6580 SoC processor paired with 2GB RAM which more than Gionee Marathon M5 Lite.
Gionee Marathon M5 Mini comes with an internal storage capacity of 8GB and also offers expandable option via microSD card up to 128GB. The smartphones feature an 8-MP rear camera and for selfies, it has a 5-MP front snapper. According to Gionee’s post on its Facebook page, the handset will come with Fast Charging technology.
The dimension of Marathon M5 Mini is measured at 143.5 *71 * 9.6mm. The connectivity includes Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth, GPS, USB, OTG and microUSB. The smartphone’s battery is claimed to offer up to 2 weeks of standby and Talktime of 18 hours.
As compared to the Gionee Marathon M5 Lite which was powered by a 64-bit 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 Soc, 1GB RAM and an inbuilt storage of 16GB. Other than this all other specifications remain similar. The Gionee Marathon M5 Mini Lite was launched in January this year, and the device came in two color variants Gold and Blue-Grey. Marathon M5 Lite was priced at Rs. 12,599.
