Huawei unveiled Mate 9 Lite – the much affordable smartphone
After announcing the Mate 9, Mate 9 Premium Edition, and Mate 9 Pro, Huawei unveiled Mate 9 Lite – the much affordable smartphone, adding another smartphone to its Mate 9 series. The smartphone is listed on the company’s website. However, no price details have been mentioned, only name and specifications are revealed. By looking at the specifications, it appears this is the cheapest model in the Mate 9 lineup. Mate 9 Lite will be available in Grey, Silver, and Gold colour variants.
The device offers a standard mid-range specs. The smartphone runs on Huawei’s EMUI 4.1 on top of 6.0 Marshmallow. It comes with a 5.5-inch HD (1080×1920 pixels) display along with 2.5D curved glass on top. Mate 9 Lite is powered by a Kirin 655 SoC along with an octa-core CPU, so the device will not be too high on performance compared to other Mate 9 models.
Coming to the optics of Mate 9 Lite, it has dual primary camera setup similar to other Mate 9 variants but contrasting the 20-megapixel and 12-megapixel Leica sensor that we have seen in Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro; the Mate 9 Lite bears a lower 12-megapixel and 2-megapixel primary camera without the Leica branding. For the front camera, it has an 8-megapixel sensor. The 12-megapixel camera comes with a 0.3 second PDAF focus, on the other hand, the secondary camera captures depth for bokeh clicks.
According to the company’s official website, the Mate 9 Lite will be coming in two variants- one with 3GB of RAM and 32GB onboard storage and the other with 4GB of RAM and internal storage of 64GB. The smartphone offers a 3340mAh battery. For connectivity Mate 9 Lite offers, Wi-Fi, GPS, and Bluetooth. The dimensions of the smartphone are measured at 150.9×76.2×8.2mm, and it weighs at 162 grams.
