Micromax Canvas 6 Pro Review – Micromax came up with 15 new smartphones in its launch event in Delhi. However, to our surprise, only two phones gained much attention of the crowd i.e. the Canvas 6 as well as Canvas 6 pro. Also, along with this launch the company has tried to refresh its brand by introducing a new tagline as well as by launching a new logo.
I have discussed the specifications of Micromax Canvas 6 in my previous article, and now we will review Canvas 6 Pro.
After reviewing Canvas 6 Pro, some of the results came out to be astonishing. This phone is similar to Canvas 6 in many aspects, however, is also different in others. So let’s dig in a little deeper and see what specs are being offered by this smartphone.
Design If we talk about phones in the price bracket of 15000, you more often won’t get a premium look as everyone desires. But still this phone which is entirely made up of plastic and offers you an excellent grip as well as feel. The phone comes with a textured rubber panel which offers a firm hold of the phone. The phone has a large screen size of 5.5 inches; hence, the people with average hands might find it difficult to hold. The capacitive touch screen buttons seen on the panel have been replaced by the on-screen buttons. On the top, you will find a sound grill along with a front facing camera. Similarly, at the back, you will find a camera popping out of the surface followed by a Flash at the bottom and the Micromax logo below.

Software If we talk about the software specification of this phone, then it comes loaded with Android 5.1 Lollipop which has the client interface and in addition, appearance like that of stock Android. There have been a couple of changes, but mostly the features, as well as appearance, are identical. Micromax Canvas 6 Pro Review
If we talk about bloat wares, then this phone has quite a few. You will find a number of bloat wares pre-installed in this device such as Amazon, Quickr, Snapdeal, etc. Also, we were surprised not to find applications such as Facebook on this phone. This phone also comes with 6 months of unlimited subscription of the Gaana app. Also, there are two similar applications i.e. Udio and Wallet, which we couldn’t differentiate. Overall, the interface of this device is good, and you are sure to be left contented after using it.
Display As I have mentioned before, this phone comes with a screen size of 5.5 inches. The Full HD screen provides users with excellent viewing angles, however, does fail under bright sunlight. You will need to switch it to maximum brightness if you want to read something under direct sunlight. The color reproduction levels, as well as contrast levels, are fine. Camera From the beginning, the company has made clear that this phone is purely aimed at providing a high degree of performance and is not a selfie phone. The company, therefore, has a low 5MP camera coupled with a 13MP back camera. The primary camera also offers high video recording options. Also, this phone is one of the fastest phones as far as the shutter speed is concerned. Micromax Canvas 6 Pro Review
One of the advantages that it offers is a high-speed focus, while the area it fails is the color reproduction. The images clicked in the bright daylight are decent; however the color appears to be washed out. Also talking about the selfie camera, the phone produces pixelated images, and hence you cannot rely upon it for capturing perfect shots. So to sum up, it doesn’t provide the quality of images as offered by phones in similar price range.
Battery Life Talking about the battery life, the company should have provided a battery that could support the device’s high performance. But sadly, that is not the case with this mobile. The phone has a battery of 3000mAh which hardly lasts for around 8-10 hours. In this era of high competition, companies are launching phones which are offering a battery backup of 24 hours, while this phone offers approximately one-third of them. Also, during heavy game playing, the battery heats up, this may be a problem for some. Micromax Canvas 6 Pro Review Micromax Canvas 6 Pro Review
Technical Specifications This phone is powered by a 2GHz Octa-core processor and comes in loaded with a 4GB of RAM. Also, it offers a 16GB of internal storage which of course can be expanded with the help of external memory card. It runs on Android 5.1 and has a battery capacity of 3000mAh. Accessories Upon unboxing the device, apart from the gadget, you will find, a two-pin wall charger and a USB cable. Micromax also does provide screen guard for your phone along with some documentation. Happy news for Music lovers!!! There is also a pair of earphone provided. Micromax Canvas 6 Pro Review
Variants This phone is available in black color only which we thought looked beautiful in appearance. This variant of the phone is priced at Rs. 13,999.
Verdict If considered in general, then it is a decent phone that people will like. However, its counterpart is a better option to consider, provided that it offers more storage space, a better quality selfie camera. Also, it comes in a plastic body while the Canvas 6 comes with an entirely metallic design. Micromax Canvas 6 Pro Review
You won’t just buy a phone because it tends to offer a higher 4GB of RAM. There are a number of phones in the market such as Redmi Note 3, LeEco 1s, etc. which are offering full metallic body along with finger print sensors, that too at a lower price than Micromax. However in case you are interested in buying out of the two Canvas 6 variants than the basic version is what I would prefer and suggest. Micromax Canvas 6 Pro Review
