Reliance Jio has now started expanding the company in the broadband line known to be Jio Fiber. It can be launched till Diwali as Economic Times reported. The base plan of Jio Fiber would be of Rs. 500 in which it provides 100 GB data. This is not the first report there are many reports which suggest the launch of Reliance Jio Fiber in 2017 Diwali.
There are many reports which are coming but officially there is no announcement by Reliance Jio about the commercial launch of Jio Fiber broadband service. Reliance Jio’s Twitter handle had tweeted this out, “The Jio Fiber Preview Offer has currently being launched in select areas of Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Ahmedabad, Jamnagar, Surat and Vadodara. Our network is in the process of being rolled out to other cities.”
As per reports, 100Mbps connection is being tested in some cities such as Chennai and Mumbai by Jio Fiber. Reliance Jio Chairman Mukesh Ambani stated in September last year about the JioFiber broadband services plans and would offer the internet up to 1Gbps. JioFiber broadband services currently is expanded in 10 big cities including metro cities and Noida and Gurgaon, and in other cities, there is work in progress. The service will be offered to both home and business users as mention by Ambani during AGM (Annual General Meeting).
Broadband service of Jiofiber when started it provides three months free trial after depositing security fee, period as Reliance Jio 4G did. This will again make a price war in rival companies which should benefit the customers. But To enter the gated colonies, it would be difficult for JioFiber broadband services provider.
The broadband market in India is not as large as compared to the mobile telecom network. There are only about 20 million wireline broadband users in the country. BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) has occupied half of them.
Let’s watch Jio Fiber broadband services can be successful as Reliance Jio 4G became. If it will be successful than what the rival companies do.
