The Hyderabad-based startup company, the Smartron, an Indian Private Limited company has launched the first smartphone and priced at Rs. 22,999, which will hit the shelves from early June. The registrations are open and can be ordered through Gadget 360 and the Smartron t store. Recently, in the month of March, the company introduced the laptop-tablet hybrid, dubbed as the Smartron t.book.
Talking about its specs, the phone sports a 5.5-inch full HD Super AMOLED display screen with a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels at PPI of 401 pixels per density. The handset screen is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and features Apical Assertive Display Technology for better sunlight legibility.
The Smartron t runs on Android Marshmallow operating system and is powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor. As far its camera features are concerned, it is paired with 13-megapixel rear along with Isocell sensor and a dual-LED flash and 4-megapixel front camera featuring 2-micron pixel size for improved low-light functioning. The handset is packed with 4GB RAM and an incredibly 64GB of internal storage, which is extended up to 128GB via a micro-SD card. Further on, it also provides the users with unlimited cloud online storage.
As far as the Smartron T dimensions are concerned, it measures 158.20 x 78.20 x 6.98mm and weighs 149 grams, making the lightest smartphone in its category. The device is packed with dual-tone metal body and will be available in four color variants – Classic Grey, Metallic Pink, Sunrise Orange, and Steel Blue. Moreover, the handset is equipped with 3000mAh battery along with a support of Quick Charge 2.0 and USB-Type C charger. Talking about its connectivity options, the phone features 4G LTE support in India, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, USB OTG, and FM.
On the commencement of launch of Smartron t, Mahesh Lingareddy, Founder and Chairman of Smartron, India Pvt Ltd, said, “Smartron t.phone is a great addition to tron generation of Smart Things to Come and critical to the tronx experience. It is one of the most exciting devices in the line of products that the brand plans to launch this year.” He further stated that the brand’s aim is to make the life of consumers very simple and smarter by bringing more self-directed and intelligent devices and services. He claims that the gadget is wholly designed and engineered in India. And, the company stated that they will be manufacturing will be done at the local level in next 2-3 years.
As earlier said, the company entered the Indian market with the launch of Smartron t.book and is focused on the areas like sensors, robotics and cloud and aims at “premier global IoT convergence brand.”
