Xiaomi Meri aka Mi 5c, scheduled to launch on December 12 in China.
Recently Xiaomi has managed to grab the highlight with its back to back announcement of smartphone and home appliances. Recently it surprised its audience with setup-boxes Mi Box 3c and Mi Box 3s that offers user interface PatchWall based on artificial intelligence. Now a fresh report suggests that the company is working on a Xiaomi Meri aka Mi 5c, scheduled to launch on December 12 in China.
The popular tipster KJuma has revealed specification, images, and price details of the smartphone on Weibo. The xiaomi Meri smartphone is expected to come with a price tag of CNY 1,499 (around Rs. 14,800). The device is rumoured to be powered by Xiaomi’s own Pine Cone processor. Rumours have it that the company has been working on it for quite some time, now it looks like the Chinese manufacturer is finally ready to unveil I in the market. The in-house Pine Cone chipset is all geared up to give a tough competition to other manufacturer’s in-house chip such as Samsung’s Exynos chipset and Huawei-made Kirin chipset.
The tipster says that Xiaomi Meri smartphone is tipped to be available in Black, Gold, and Rose Gold colour variants. Coming to the rumoured specifications of the device, it is expected to be powered by an octa-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz coupled with 3GB of RAM and ARM Mali-T860 GPU. The upcoming smartphone will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based on MIUI 8 out-of-the-box.
Another leaked image reveals that the Xiaomi Meri aka Mi 5c will come with a 5.5-inch HD (1080×1920) display along with 403 PPI pixel density. KJuma also claims that the smartphone will support NFC for payments.
However, all these are just rumours as the company has yet to make an official announcement. Let us just wait for that, before jumping to any conclusion.
