Yu Televentures is a subsidiary of Micromax Informatics Pvt Ltd. Yu makes affordable Android smartphones which are sold in flash sales on the common e-commerce websites in India. The company also makes a fitness tracker and health tracker which can be used with the smartphone or otherwise.
Yu Televentures latest flagship Yu Yunicorn will be going to have its first flash sale on Tuesday. The registrations for this handset began last week.
This smartphone is a touchscreen phone. The phone will be available in various colors like Rush silver, Rush gold and graphite. It is an 8.5 mm thick smartphone. It also features a metal frame and a rear panel, using a brushed aluminum alloy including manganese and magnesium.
Just like the Apple iPhone, it also has a fingerprint scanner which can store up to 5 fingerprints. The phone comes with a 5.5 inch of touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080 pixels by 1920 pixels.
It also has a 5-megapixel of front camera and a 13-megapixel for the primary camera. The camera also has a flash which can be used whenever needed.
Yu Yunicorn is a dual sim smartphone which will accept two nano sims. It has all the connectivity facilities like Bluetooth, GPS, 3G, 4G.
This Smartphone has a great battery life. It has a 400 mAh battery life. It has a battery life which can deliver up to 20 hours of talk time and 500 hours of standby time. It also offers fast charging support. It does not have a removal battery system.
Yu Yunicorn smartphone launched
The Yu Yunicorn smartphone has all the software services. The Smartphone at present runs on 5.1.1 lollipop with what Yu calls it ‘Android on steroids’. It is said to have received an upgrade.
The smartphone has a RAM of 4GB. The internal storage of this handset is 32 GB, and one can also have an external storage if needed. A mirco-SD can be used for external storage as needed. It can accept up to 128 GB of external storage.
It also has a headphone pin and around 3.5 mm of the pin can be plugged in.
The most important thing about the smartphone people buy is its price. The smartphone has given an introductory price of 12,999 INR, and it will be exclusively available via Flipkart over a month.
After a month, it will be priced at RS 13,499. The smartphone will come with Rs 400 in the YU Wallet. The first flash sale will feature a 10 percent cash back from the SBI users.
The company promises an upgrade of the software from Lollipop to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow within a month from launch.
