Zuk, which is a Lenovo, owned only online brand will launch its first product in the Indian market. The device Zuk Z1 which was unveiled in China in September last year is now trying its luck in India. In China, the phone was tagged with a price of CNY 1,7999, approximately 18,250 INR. For the launch of the smartphone, Lenovo has already sent the physical media invites, but yet not confirmed the event’s date.
The Zuk Z1 has always been branded with the Zuk name instead of the Lenovo tag. The metal frame phone has the Zuk brand name at its back. The brand entered into an exclusive licensing agreement with Cyanogen to base its products’ Android distribution upon a variant of the popular custom ROM CyanogenMod.
To recall, the specifications of the phone are:
Display and Body: The phone is available in two colors i.e. black and white and the body is embedded with a fingerprint scanner in its front panel. The display screen measures 5.5-inch screen with a high resolution of 1080×1920 pixels. It measures 155.7×77.3×8.9mm and weighs about 175 grams.
Storage: The RAM is 3GB and internal memory is about 64GB.
Camera: The front camera sports 8 megapixels and the rear camera comes with flash and features 13 megapixels. The smartphone is coupled with Sony sensor (IMX214) and optical image stabilization (OIS).
Processor: The smartphone is powered by 2.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor. The operating system of the phone is Androidv5.1.1 Lollipop.
Connectivity: This dual SIM phone supports 3G and 4G network on both the SIM. The Wi-Fi, FM, Bluetooth GPS and Glonass are supported by the phone. And no headphone, USB OTG connection is assisted.
Based in Beijing, the Chinese company was founded in May 2015. About the brand Zuk, the Lenovo CEO, Yang Yuanqing stated once that Zuk is one of the Chinese tech giant’s major steps in its business transformation in the Internet era. Recently, the brand has launched its new product in China named Z2 Pro on 21st April 2016 and is going to enter the Indian market soon.
