HP is planning to launch a Windows phone in 2017
HP at the MWC held in February launched the Windows 10-powered Elite X3. The device also supported Windows 10’s Continuum feature and was aimed at enterprise customers. Even though with the mild response to the Elite X3, apparently HP is planning to launch a Windows phone in 2017.
Rumours has it that the company has teamed up with Microsoft for the launch of a more customer focused Windows smartphone that is expected to unveil in February next year.
Reports reveal that HP will build up and sell the device, on the other hand, Microsoft will help with the finance. Microsoft will allegedly also supply the technology that is used with its Lumia smartphones to let HP bring features such as ClearBlack display, Glance, double tap to wake, and enhanced camera functionality to it impending Windows 10 device.
Just to recall, the Elite X3 feature a 5.96-inch QHD (1440×2560 pixels) AMOLED display along with Gorilla Glass 4 on top. The handset came with a whopping price tag of $799 ( around Rs. 54459.73) The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC clocked at 2.15GHz paired with 4GB of RAM, and internal storage capacity of 64GB.
Coming to the optics of Elite X3, it comes with a 15-megapixel primary camera and an 8-megapixel front shooter. The Elite X3 packs a massive non-removal 4150mAh battery. The smartphone was specially designed for businesses which why the device included tonnes of security features and HP Workspace.
Connectivity options in Elite X3 include 3G and 4 support, GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. Sensor options include Proximity, Accelerometer, Compass, Magnetometer, Gyroscope, and Ambient light sensor.
Further, the reports added that Microsoft has already revealed the new Windows 10 device internally in Redmond, and is tipped to make an official announcement in February 2017.
