HTC has unveiled the much awaited Bolt high-end smartphone

HTC has unveiled the much awaited Bolt high-end smartphone. HTC in collaboration with Sprint made this smartphone, and it will be available via Sprint retails and HTC’s online store in the US. The smartphone is priced at $25 per month over 24 months, that is, $600 (Rs.40,250 approximately). However, there is no word on its availability in other markets.

Sprint is parading the HTC Bolt as its “fastest smartphone ever” and claims that it supports 3×20 MHz carrier aggregation owing to the Qualcomm Snapdragon X10 LTE modem. HTC seems to be following the footstep of iPhone models, as Bolt is also missing a headphone jack and comes with a USB Type-C-enabled headphone.

The smartphone comes with a 5.5-inch QHD (1440×2560 pixels) display. Bolt is the company’s first waterproof aluminium unibody smartphone. It has an IP57 rating for water, splash, and dust resistance. However, the company has clearly stated that regular wear and tear may gradually decrease the water resistance over time and advised: “do not submerge HTC Bolt intentionally.”

Bolt runs on the latest Android Nougat 7.0 out-of-the-box and features split-screen viewing, inbuilt Google Duo video calling app, free unlimited photo storage with Google Photos app. The handset houses fingerprint just below the display which the company claims unlock the device in just .2 seconds.

HTC Bolt has put the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 under the hood, which seems to be a questionable move as it is had heating issues with many smartphones in the past. It comes with a 3GB of RAM and onboard storage of 32GB. Apart from that it also offers expandability of storage up to 2T via microSD card. In terms of optics of HTC Bolt, it bears a 16-megapixel primary camera which features OIS ( optical image stabilisation), PDAF, and 4K video recording. There is also an 8-megapixel front camera along with screen flash. The smartphone packs 3200mAh battery along with Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 fast charging support.

Andre Lonne, President of HTC America, said that the company launched the most advanced smartphone earlier this year. Seeing that the company had to raise the bar with this smartphone. With HTC Bolt company aimed at everything perfect and HTC took wireless speed and supercharged in collaboration with Sprint, making HTC Bolt a smartphone nothing like the market have ever experienced.
