Meizu has announced an upgraded variant Pro6- Pro 6s. The smartphone looks exactly like its predecessor in respect of the design. However, it certainly comes with an upgraded camera and battery life. The smartphone is priced at CNY 2,699 (Rs. 26,700 approximately), and it is tipped to launch in China soon.
The Meizu Pro 6s will be available in Grey, Gold, Rose Gold, and Silver colour variant, same as the older version and will feature the same curve-edged aluminium body with alike antenna bands design. It is basically just a specification upgrade, while the in respect of design the smartphone comes with no change. To recall, the Meizu Pro 6 was released in April last year and was priced at CNY 2,500 (around Rs. 25,700).
The Meizu Pro 6s sports a 12-megapixel Sony IMX386 back sensor along with improved 4-axis optical image stabilisation, phase-detection, laser-assistance, and 10-LED dual-tone ring flash. There is a 5-megapixel front camera along with f/2.0 aperture with large 1.4-micron pixels.
The battery is boosted up to 3060mAh from 2560mAh seen on the Meizu Pro 6, and this has resulted in slight heftiness in the smartphone. It supports fast charging along with mCharge 3.0 technology via a 24W charger.
The smartphone also comes with 3D Press functionality that was seen on the older version, and the fingerprint scanner is housed under the Home Button. Meizu’s take on 3D Touch pressure sensitive display technology that the tech giant Apple initiated with iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus. The Meizu Pro 6s comes with a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED HD (1080×1920 pixels) resolution display along with a pixel density of 423ppi and a Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
The smartphone is powered by a deca-core MediaTek Helio X25 processor along with the 4 Cortex-A53 clocked at 1.4GHz, 4 Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2.0GHz, and 2 Cortex-A72 cores clocked at 2.5GHz. The deca-core processor is paired with 4GB LPDDR3 RAM and Mali-T880 GPU. The Meizu Pro 6s comes with an internal storage capacity of 64GB with no expandable option. For connectivity the smartphone has 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS, Bluetooth v4.1, A-GPS, and USB Type-C connectivity.
