HTC launched a new smartphone in the Desire range, the Desire 650

HTC launched a new smartphone in the Desire range, the Desire 650, in its home. The new smartphone is also listed on the company’s Taiwan site.

While the company’s site doesn’t reveal the price in the listing, Focus Taiwan hints that the launch price of the device would start from TWD 5,490 (around Rs. 12,000) and it is expected to be available in early December. The biggest highlight of HTC Desire 650 is its ‘double back’ which means the handset features half plain rubber back while the other half features what the company calls engraved pattern or sculptured design. The company says that the Desire 650 featuring double back will offer better grip.

As for the specifications of the HTC Desire 650 comes with a 5-inch HD TFT LCD (720×1280 pixels) display along with a pixel density of 294ppi. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based HTC Sense skin on top. Desire 650 is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor however the company hasn’t revealed exact chipset details, as of now. It comes with a 2GB of RAM and onboard storage capacity of 16GB. The handset also offers expandability up to 2TB via microSD card.

Coming to the optics of HTC Desire 650, it comes with a 13-megapixel primary camera on the back along with BSI sensor, autofocus, f/2.2 aperture, and LED flash. It also bears a 5-megapixel front camera along with BSI sensor, auto-self timer, and f/1.8 aperture. The handset supports a single Nano-SIM and has BoomSound tech on earphones.

The HTC Desire 650 is powered by a 2200mAh battery which the company claims delivers up to 17 hours of talk time and up to   672 hours of standby time. The smartphone also supports LTE Cat.4 along with download speed of up to 150Mbps and upload speed of up to 50Mbps. The dimensions of the device are measured at 146.9×70.9×8.4mm, and it weighs at 140 grams.
