Huawei has unveiled Mate 9 Pro – its new smartphone, in China. Mainly the device is a premium version of the Huawei Mate 9, which was released earlier this month. Mate 9 Pro will be available in Champagne Gold, Space Gray, Moonlight Silver, Mocha Brown, and Ceramic White colours.
As for the specifications of Huawei Mate 9 Pro, the dual-SIM smartphone comes a 5.5-inch QHD curved AMOLED (1440×2560 pixels) display- one of the biggest difference between the Mate 9 Pro and the Mate 9. It runs on Huawei’s Emotion UI 5.0 on top of Android 7.0 Nougat.
The device is powered by a 2.5GHz octa-core Kirin 960 processor paired with 6GB of RAM.
Coming to the optics of Huawei Mate 9 Pro, it bear dual-camera setup with 20-megapixel monochrome lens and 12-megapixel RGB camera with Leica lenses. The dual camera setup is paired with dual-tone LED flash. It also comes with an 8-megapixel front snappers for selfies. The camera setup of Mate 9 Pro features optical image stabilisation capability.
It has an internal storage capacity of 64GB and 128GB and 4GB and 6GB RAM as a memory option. The 4GB variant is priced at CNY 4,699 (around Rs. 46,500) whereas as the 6GB RAM variant of the smartphone comes with a price tag of CNY 5,299 (around 52,500). The Mate 9 Pro also features a fingerprint scanner at the back. Apart from internal storage the handset also offers storage expandability up to 256GB via microSD card.
The handset packs a huge 4000mAh battery. For connectivity Huawei Mate 9 Pro provides options such as Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v4.2, NFC, Type-C USB, and GPS. The dimensions of the smartphone are measured at 125x75x7.5mm and weigh 169g. Sensor options onboard are an accelerometer, gyro, proximity, fingerprint sensor, compass, and barometer. For now, we don’t have any word regarding its outside availability, especially in India; however, the company might be making the announcement soon.
