Huawei is set to roll out the latest Android 7.0 Nougat update soon

After Sony, Samsung, and HTC, Huawei is set to roll out the latest Android 7.0 Nougat update soon. Users can expect the arrival of the update with Huawei’s EMUI 5.0 ROM in the first quarter of the coming year, however, for now only selected smartphones are getting the update.

The company has announced that the Huawei Mate 8, Huawei P9, Huawei P9 Plus, Huawei P9 Lite, Huawei Nova, and Huawei Nova Plus will receive the update in the first quarter of next year. All these smartphones were launched in the past one year, and there is no word whether the company plans to rollout update for older smartphones as well.

Huawei also announced that the Mate 8 and P9 would get the update first, followed by the remaining smartphones eventually.

The latest Huawei Mate 9 is already running on the EMUI 5.0 based on Android 7.0 Nougat. The smartphone is powered by 1.8GHz octa-core HiSilicon 960 processor paired with 4GB of RAM. Apart from the latest Android 7.0, it has 5.90-inch touchscreen display which offers the resolution of 1080×1920 pixels. Mate 9 bears a 20-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front snapper. It is powered by a 4000mAh non-removal battery.

According to the company’s claim, the new EMUI 5.0 ROM offers a lot of enhancement I interface design and security. Huawei in its press release said that with EMUI 5.0 the users could stimulate 90 percent of the main functions in just two or three clicks. Plus, machine learning recognises which application are regularly used and are resource optimised mechanically. It also offers power management to enhance battery efficiency. EMUI 5.0 also features ‘App Lock’ that offers the users to lock specific application such as Facebook, WhatsApp, or any other apps with various locks.
