Xiaomi geared up to unveil the Redmi 4 smartphone today in China. The event will commence at 7 pm CST (4:30 pm IST), and the entire event will be live-streamed. The Chinese manufacturer is also expected to launch a second, and much more budgeted Xiaomi Redmi 4A smartphone event.
Where the teaser image released earlier this week didn’t give out much, the Xiaomi Redmi 4 has been in talks for quite some time. One of the biggest highlights of the smartphone is said to be its all metal frame, a fingerprint scanner at the back, a display that is, curved at the edges, and the 16-megapixel primary camera. The Redmi 4 is expected to be available in Grey, Silver, and Gold colour variant.
Recalling all the leaks, the Redmi 4 is expected to embed a capacitive button at the front and power and volume keys on the right. It is tipped to sport a 5-inch (1080×1920 pixels) LCD display and be powered by a 1.4GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor or a MediaTek Helio P10 SoC. With that, it will be coupled to a RAM of 3GB and an internal storage of 32GB.
Further, the smartphone would also support expansion up to 128GB via microSD card slot. Redmi 4 is expected to sport a 16-megapixel primary camera along with dual-LED flash, and a 5-megapixel front snapper for the selfie. The smartphone packs a 4100mAh battery. It measures at 141.3×69.6×8.9mm and weighs 153 grams.
As stated above, there is also a cheaper variant that is expected to launch with Redmi 4; Redmi 4A. It is expected to be launched in Gold and Rose Gold colour variant. The 5-inch LCD display packs a 720p resolution, and it is powered by a 1.4GHz Snapdragon 425 chipset. It will be coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB expandable storage. The Redmi 4A will come with a 3030mAh battery. It measures at 139.9×70.4×8.5mm and weighs 140 grams.
We do not have any word about the prices of both the smartphone, though it will all be revealed in just a few hours.
