Samsung Electronics America has replaced nearly 85 % of the Galaxy Note 7 handset as the company works to solve the issue of fire-prone smartphones

Samsung will be announcing a software update in the upcoming days to limit the smartphone’s ability to charge beyond 60 percent.

As of now, just about 85 percent of all recollected Samsung Galaxy Note 7 handsets have been replaced through the US Galaxy Note Refound and Exchange Program.

The company said it is mainly focused on collecting the remaining Galaxy Note 7 phone from the market. And it will be releasing a software update soon that will limit the device’s ability to charge beyond 60 percent, and issue a reminder pop-up notification every time user charges, reboots or switch on the display of their Note 7.

Moreover, any Samsung Galaxy Note 7 owners who are yet to participate in the US Note 7 Refund and Exchange Program should instantly contact their carrier or retailer today.

However, the majority of the Galaxy Note 7 users who participated in the program opted to receive another Samsung smartphone.

This large-scale recall has presented competitors manufacturers such as Apple, Alphabet Inc’s Google, LG Electronics, etc. an opportunity to win over Samsung’s loyalties.

In addition to the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 recall, the Samsung Electronics Co Ltd stated that on Friday it would recall nearly 2.8 million top-load washing machines in the United States of America subsequent to the reports of the injuries.

The Fire fiasco was a major blow to the reputation of this South Korean Tech giant. Now, the company needs to plan something huge to gain back the trust of its loyalties.
