Samsung Galaxy A5 Smartphone Review and Specifications
‘Samsung’ as the name implies perfection and consumer satisfaction; the company is back to its form again after the launch of its flagship Galaxy S6. Now the company is looking forward to retaining their stand in the electronics market with their A series. Coming forward with its new revised smartphones with the same name as its earlier version but with some added specifications Samsung has captured the Indian gadget market with its new Galaxy A series of smartphones- Galaxy A5 and A7. Both launched at the starting of this year; they have taken up the whole of the attention of its customers with its excellent features. As the company claims that these two phones are the best of the smartphones till date, we too do not find any reason it is not. Since the arrival of Galaxy A5 in the market from February this year, there has been a constant buzz in the market about its high-end features. Really? Is it so good that everyone is dying to own it? Okay! Let us check out its details first.
Design and Looks: This premium feel-midrange device is all set to make its customers go gaga over it. The beautiful color variations, the excellent side edges, the smooth touch rear glass, the front screen and all at a price of Rs.22,990 is indeed the best we can ever have. Galaxy A5 has a full metal body which flaunts its luxurious look with a stunning full HD AMOLED display. It is the best option for those who yearn for a premium quality flagship but cannot afford to spend much. The side edges have a matte finish and are much like Galaxy S6 while viewing from many angles. But it is not a light weight phone owing to its metal finish and glass back and also consumes weight due to its large size battery.
Display and Touch: Galaxy A5 has a Super AMOLED display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4 which is an added treat as other phones mostly provide a protection of Gorilla Glass 3. It has a screen size of 5.2inches with a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels and 424ppi pixel density. The pixel density is better than Galaxy A7, hence provides a sharper display. It has got a decent visibility even under bright sunlight and precise viewing angles. The surface is, however, prone to fingerprints and smudges, but that can be ignored as it is a problem for any other smartphones too. This phone supports TouchWiz UI built off Android Lollipop 5.1.
Software: This mid-range phone provides 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory expandable up to 128GB using a microSD card. It is supported by Android Lollipop 5.1 version of Operating System and powered by 1.6 GHz Octa-core Cortex-A53 processor. Like Galaxy A7, this phone also comes with a Wi-Fi connectivity standard of 802.11 a/b/g/n and a Bluetooth connectivity of v4.10. This phone too supports the latest features like NFC and 4G/LTE. It also contains some wonderful sensors like ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, magnetometer, accelerometer, and gyroscope.
Camera: Samsung A5’s camera store is enriched with a support of 16MP at the rear side and 5MP at the front. This phone takes away the market with its solid camera performance. The 13-megapixel primary shooter is accompanied by f/1.9 aperture and LED flash which helped deliver stunning photos with a lively and detailed finish. The camera performs better in bright sunlight and performs equally well in low-light conditions too. The 5 megapixel strengthened secondary camera helps to capture some fantastic selfies in different modes. There is an ample amount of digital sharpening, but the exposure cannot be termed as good as some of the parts of the image turn out to be over warmed when clicked in bright light.
Battery life: The battery life of this phone is highly reliable with a capacity of 2900mAh. This battery specification is one of the best that one can ever find in this range. Usual work like messaging, internet browsing, gaming, a little bit of music, all these are supported by its battery for quite a good amount of time and still leave 20-30% in the shell. Its battery is a non-removable one.
Variants and Price: This smartphone is available in 4 colors- White, Black, Pink and Gold. Pink seems to be very attractive, and even gold is pretty subtle. White and Black give a substantial boost to your personality. Different colors are available in different prices though the price variation is not so distinct. This phone is presently available in the market for Rs. 22,990 but the price may vary according to the different online stores or retailers from where you may buy.
Phone accessories in the box: In an amount of Rs.22,990 the goods that might arrive with your new phone would be a two pin charger, a micro USB cable, a SIM ejector tool, an in-ear earphone and ear buds and a Quick Start Guide with warranty information.
