Google’s upcoming Android Wear smartwatches

Google is recently working on its smartwatches which are powered by Android Wear. Google announced the next version of Android Wear 2.0 which makes smartwatches more useful devices. Reports claimed that Google had surfaced its smartwatches last week, and now images have made it in public. Google’s upcoming Android Wear smartwatches are codenamed angelfish and swordfish. These smartwatches will come in with Google Assistant built-in.

Google’s very own smartwatches can debut after the launch of 2016 Nexus devices. Smartwatches are not mainstream like the smartphones and Google have not been successful with the product. Google’s primary partner Samsung has also resorted to Tizen OS for its smartwatches, and the other OEMs have been quite slow with their products development. With the two codenames and the products, Google can show a way for its OEM partners to build good Android powered smartphones. Google is currently working with an OEM partner to launch its Nexus range of smartphones. Google’s Nexus have been a hit.

Google is offering numerous amount of customization, and these smartwatches are closed for customizations. Most of the Android Wear smartwatches are available in the market and runs on the same operating system and don’t boast any difference. The angelfish version seems to be larger than the swordfish. Both the smartwatches have a round watch face. The Android Police claimed that the angelfish version would be the smartwatch with LTE connectivity while the swordfish will be a tethered device.

Research argues that the connected smartwatch shipments will reach 7.4 million units in the present year. Google holds a significant share in mobile devices and would like to grab the market post apple’s success with it smartwatch. The Google watches look pretty decent and amazing in the pictures. As Google is still working on these watches, there are no clear reports about it. Stay tuned!
