Sony Smartphone Is Tipped to Get The First Android O update

Most of the users of the Android smartphones are waiting for the latest update of Android O 8.0. Which can be revealed in the next couple of months, while the Google hasn’t made the official announcement about the launch date of the Android O. But the reports suggest that software update might be available from the next week.

An alleged Sony smartphone has been spotted again, but this time on benchmarking website, GFXBench. The listing on the website claims that the smartphone – which is believed to be the Sony Xperia XZ1 – will feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, RAM of 4GB and also the latest operating system update of Android O.

The smartphone was first spotted on Geekbench sometime last week, which revealed the same specifications. What’s strange is that the alleged device has been listed as carrying the latest Android O update, along with a caption located underneath that reads, “Android Sony Edition.” Google will officially roll out its Android O update sometime this month If we believe in the reports. Thus, it seems pretty believable that Sony’s alleged Xperia XZ1 smartphone might be among the first smartphones to carry the latest Android update.

The device will feature a 5.1-inch full HD display and will offer 64GB of internal storage as the listing further goes on to suggest. On the camera front, the device has been reported to sport a 19MP rear sensor tagged along with a 13MP front shooter. The rumors also suggest that the smartphone will further have the support for super-slow motion video recording.

Sony is speculated to take the wraps off its flagship device, the Xperia XZ1 on August 31 during the IFA, 2017 in Berlin. There might also be the launch of another smartphone alongside the Xperia XZ1. The latter is believed to be a bezel-less offering by Sony and is further rumored to come equipped with a 6-inch ‘Full Active’ display, with a resolution of 2,160 x 1,080 pixels, and an aspect ratio of 18:9.

According to the reports, the Android O update might launch in about two weeks from the Google. The search giant Google will expect to debut its latest Android O alongside the launch of its flagship smartphones such as Google Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2, which might expect to launch in about the month of October or November. Google preferred to debut the latest version of Android with its smartphones and after that, they might roll out to the other smartphones.
