Reliance Jio invests 1.34 lakh crore in 4G network
According to the recent news, Reliance Jio Infocomm said that it is all set to launch its 4G services, apart for in the four circle where it could take around six more weeks to set up the network. It looks like Reliance Industries much awaited commercial launch may be around the corner. Reliance Jio invests 1.34 lakh crore in 4G network.
Anshuman Thakur, head of strategy and planning at Reliance Jio said’ “we had thought that we would launch once our 850 MHz network was integrated because we don’t want to be working on a network after the launch. But apart from that, our overall readiness is high.” He was speaking at the first-quarter briefing of Reliance Industries. He further informed that the company had received last of the needed sanction from the telecom department on 7th July in the four circles that it Rajasthan, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
According to the report of Economist Time’s July 14 edition, the launch of Reliance Jio 4G services could be just a month away. It has been described as the world’s biggest startup with the investment of encircling a 1.5 crore. The launch has been in making for the past six years since Reliance re-entered the telecom sector.
At Reliance’s earning statement Chairman Mukesh Ambani Said, “At Reliance Jio we have built an entire ecosystem that will allow Indians to live the digital life to the fullest. The transformational ecosystem consists of broadband connectivity, devices and robust applications and services which will be available to every consumer in India.”
As per Jio, it has spent around 1.3 lakh crore of the total 1.5 crores for the setting up of its network, on the spectrum and other operating expenses. It plans to spend the rest to widen its coverage to 90% of the populace over the two years from its launch date of which 70% has already been achieved.
It already has 1.5 million test users and in coming months the trial program will be upgraded to commercial operations.
Jio has expanded its preview network offer to certain Samsung users to attract users to its network via Indian smartphones market leaders.
