Nokia’s brand returns to smartphones

Nokia loyalties from around the globe have been expecting the company’s return to the smartphones. If rumours are to be believed, ‘Nokia’s brand returns to smartphone’s this year, however as the year is almost over, we all have our eyes on the coming year.
Nokia has now announced its comeback in a slide show at the company’s Capital Markets Day 2016 which says that 2017 will see Nokia’s brand returns to smartphones and that puts all doubts to rest.

Plus, over the past few months, Nokia-branded Android devices such as Nokia 5320, Nokia 1490, and Nokia D1C have been spotted on sites like GeekBench. Though these devices are yet to be verified, it is now entirely possible that the market will see Nokia smartphones next year.

Also, while the upcoming handsets from Nokia will have company’s name, they will not be produced by Nokia. In May, the Finnish company contracted HMD Global the exclusive license to make Nokia-branded Android phones and tablets for the next 10 years.
As per the rumours, Nokia D1C is one of the first Nokia-branded smartphones that is expected to be launched in 2017. This device was previously expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 430 processor paired with 3GB of RAM, and feature a 13-megapixel primary camera and an 8-megapixel front snapper.

In October, Nokia confirmed that the Rajeev Suri the CEO of the company will deliver a keynote speech at MWC 2017 which will be held in February next year. It is likely that Suri will make the much-awaited announcement at this event. We will just have to wait for the next year to know exactly what the company has planned for the users.
