Reliance tying up with Flipkart and Snapdeal to sell 4G Lyf Smartphone

Reliance, a homegrown company, has taken a baby step and decided to enter into the online business with the major e-commerce stores i.e. Flipkart and Snapdeal. The Reliance giant has a tie-up with both the online stores to sell the 4G Lyf smartphone to expand its sales.

The giant is already there in business with the Amazon Company for the sale of its one handset. And, now the company is exploring more options to extend the sales of its handset on the online stores to customers.

Ending up with the particular decision of tying up with the online stores is mainly because of the youngsters because many youngsters are preferably planning to buy phones online. The online selling of the phone in India is 30%.

One of the executives of the online launch of the smartphones said, “The response has been good, and the company wants to expand the online sales network since each handset sold will create a customer for the 4G services when it’s launched.”

It has been considered that it will be successful as Moto G and One Plus One has achieved success so far.

In the first quarter of launch of Lyf-branded 4G smartphone of Reliance has achieved a significant position and acquired the position of fifth-largest selling handset in India.

About this strategy, Reliance stated that the company is not entering into any price war with the brands like Samsung.

At present, the sale of Reliance Lyf phones on the Reliance retail outlets is more than 1 lakh. Speaking of the smartphone success story, it is the fifth largest brand in India, as earlier mentioned, and significantly captures the 7 percent market share in India in its first quarter, as per the reports by Counterpoint Technology Market Research. Recently, the smartphone has gained the second position on the grounds of 4G/LTE connectivity followed by Samsung.

Talking about its plans, the industry aims to be in an alliance with the exclusive models to lead in the brick and motor chains, cited by one of the Industrial executives.

Moreover, Lyf Water 5 has been launched on Amazon with a price tag of Rs 11,699.
