The strong demand for 4G feature phone is revealed by its six million pre-bookings in a short window for just one day, received by Reliance Retail. It is set for a Navratri delivery. The market share of the top telcos of India is expected to be dent. The opening of pre-order booking takes place on August 24 evening and closing would take place in early August 26. The numbers of people who are interested in placing an order and registered with retail outlets are 10 million, acknowledged by people close to Reliance Retail. Sim-locked handsets are also provided by Reliance Jio in which limited apps are offered under a tariff plan which results in flouting of the concept of net neutrality. According to people, unrestricted right to use the internet has been provided by the device which does not give rise to the question of net neutrality.
According to the executive close to Jio, in the next six months at five months a week, about 150 million phones can be delivered by the company. The booking window has been suspended from Saturday as the demand is more than the target of making available five million phones a week by Reliance Industries.
Booking Process
For booking JioPhone we have to give INR 500 in advance and INR 1000 has to be paid after receiving the handset. If the device is returned back then we can have the refundable amount of INR 1500. According to known people, people who have done booking are not allowed to wait for a long time.
